Leschuplast GLTŪ Slide Bearings, Sliding foils and Sound damping bearings are exclusively supplied in the U.K & Irish market by Synthetic Packaging Ltd.
There are various bearing products which can be used for various structural bearing applications. Below is a brief summary of each product and further design and product information is available in the product brochure. Click here to download a copy.
Non-reinforced Elastomer bearings
Non- reinforced elastomer bearings ensure a controlled load distribution and enable stress free horizontal movement as well as twisting in support areas. They prevent excessive load eccentricities and edge compression. AT the same time, support surface unevenness and deviations from a parallel bedding surface is compensated for.
Non reinforced elastomer bearings N 15 and N20 are produced in 5, 10, 15 and 20mm thickness.
Reinforced Elastomer slide bearings
Reinforced Elastomer slide bearings are designed to support loads with larger displacement clearances and high surface loads, for example; girders, beams trusses etc. Low coefficient of friction and high functional stability are ensured due to high quality slide matching. They are designed to absorb horizontal displacements by movements of the sliding plate on the bearing support. At the same time they ensure a controlled load distribution and compensate similar systematic twisting in the support surface unevenness and deviations from a parallel bedding surface is compensated for.
Sliding Foils
We offer various sliding foils designed for specific design requirements. The adjacent figure shows the TG1A sliding foils range specifically designed for ceilings with small span widths. The sliding foil reduce the forces due to shrinkage and creep as well as the thermal elongation of reinforced concrete ceilings. This prevents shear cracks in support walls.
Also the TG 1 A slide bearings coated with elastomer are designed for compression loads up to 3N/mm2 typically used in the separation of components, e.g in foundation areas between the foundation and structural wall, beams etc. to reduce the forces caused by shrinkage and creep, to reduce the thermal deviations in components and to reduce underground settlement. The TG 5 POM have similar applications but for compression loads up to 10/N/mm2.
Sound Damping Bearings
The range of sound damping bearings are for use at bearing points of flights of stairs, floors, joint stems etc. The utilisation of the product is to minimise subsonic noise and impact sounds in residential, office and civic buildings. Profiled non reinforced elastomer bearings are especially suitable in the above cases due to their absorption qualities. Additionally thaey also ensure controlled load distribution, prevent excessive edge compression and spalling of the edges of the adjoining components.
Another application is as a linear bearing support for the seperation of stacked precast units.
